We pick up our story celebrating Bob Carmody’s 25th year as President, Diana’s Bananas.  Scroll down to read the first three blog posts of this 4-part series, or view them here, An Unexpected Business Opportunity, A-Peeling Bananas, Healthy Snack…with Chocolate!

While Bob Carmody is busy keeping Diana’s Bananas as the “World’s Best Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas”, he takes time outside of our jungle to help others.

Located across the Chicago facility, Bob created a park for locals in the community to enjoy. This green space in a busy and industrial area of Chicago offers a nice and quiet setting to simply enjoy being outside and smell the flowers.

Bob is quite active with helping others. He serves on the Board of Directors and as Ambassador of Mercy supporting the work of Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. Several of Diana’s Bananas employees came from Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. Read more about Bob’s involvement with Mercy Home, here

In addition, Bob is the Chairman Emeritus of the Chicago Family Business Council sponsored by DePaul University and is a Director on the advisory board of the National Frozen and Refrigerated Association. He also serves on the Board of the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC) and The Hatchery, a non-profit food and beverage incubator helping local entrepreneurs to build and grow their businesses. He generously gives his time to meet with new business owners as they launch their products.

Congratulations Bob on your 25th anniversary and for helping others in so many ways. You are the Top Banana!
